Awareness and Knowledge about Occupational Therapy among Healthcare Professionals in India: A Cross-Sectional Study

Background: The importance of awareness about Occupational Therapy (OT) in providing high-quality care to patients cannot be underscored. An adequate understanding OT ascertained by Healthcare Professionals (HP), might promote timely relevant referrals for services. Aim: This study aimed assess and knowledge among HP India. Study Design: Cross-sectional design. Method: authors developed validated a questionnaire followed contacting the selected from various hospitals country. link google form was shared with consented HP. Data collected September 2021 October 2021. Pearson chi-square test used analyse correlation items. Results: 230 participants participate survey their responses were analysed. results showed that 84.8% aware as an independent profession, since 64.8% habilitation/ rehabilitation services part clinical University curriculum work practice identified major sources where learnt OT. Activities Daily Living (ADL) considered primary area Conclusion: concluded is recognized it profession dedicated habilitation persons disability. However, revealed lack profession’s scope regard function workplace. As result, may disrupted, affecting patient holistic approach.
